My thanks from Paul Mackie

Hello All,
I would just like to say a huge thanks to all of you have come to see the band at my first few gigs with this great band.
I have been made to feel extremely welcome by so many of you in Aberdeen, Progeny Leamington Spa and The Peel in London. I have never been hugged so many times after a show and cannot begin to tell you how this has helped ease me in in to the shoes of Allan.
I understand the change of Vocalist has caused some upset to many a Pallas fan and not to mention Allan who did such a great job fronting the band for such a long time.
I first seen Pallas when they played The Capitol in Aberdeen supporting UFO many a year ago and was left speechless.
I had never heard such beautiful, deep melody wrapped up in a Scottish flag, a eureka moment for me.

I had worked with Niall at his studio whilst recording my other projects and we had always an interesting and fun relationship (until I went near the mixing console) and it is great to be developing our relationship further.
Everyday with Pallas teaches me a great deal about how great musicians pull together Ideas and I now feel I have the confidence and have earned their trust to bring my Ideas to our new album XXV (sentinal 2).
We have played several tracks from XXV live and they are being received extremely well leaving us all with the greatest of confidence to produce a Pallas classic once again.
Our next couple of Months will be spent recording and mixing ready for release later this year and then back to rehearsal for Headlining Friday 3rd September at Germany's Prog Festival at Lorelei (or however you spell it).
Anyway this has been my first post and now I am signing oot. (Scottish for out)
Thanks again

Paul

Absolutely - Paul, welcome.

I was lucky enough to see the Tunnel gig, and very pleased to have meet you outside with Niall beforehand.

Everything from the gig itself, the atmosphere and feedback as well as the Reel and Raw tapes has been hugely positive and I can't wait until the Ferry and of course XXV in Oct-tember (or whenever)! Its shaping up to be a classic piece of Pallas...

It can't be easy being the new guy - especially as a frontman - but it says a lot for you that you started your post, by recognising the huge contribution Alan has given over the years - hats off to you.

What I'd like to know - as much as I'm loving the new material (which must limit the other material played at gigs) - what other songs from Pallas's back catalogue do you like, or would be interested in putting your own stamp on? The Reel tape has whetted the appetite - so it would be really interesting to see some of the older songs treated differently, or taken on somewhere else...

All the best - we'll be shouting at the Ferry for you!
